Edited by Camran Mani and Cecilia Y. Zhou Publication date: December 15, 2023 62 pages, 10 × 7 in. 30 color images Paperback Published by Harvard Art Museums This publication catalogues twenty public tours created and led by Ho Family Student Guides, paid student workers enrolled at Harvard College. Themes range from ideas of home and legacies of colonialism to the intersections of art and astronomy. Each is represented with an illustrated entry about a single tour stop, written by the student guide who designed the tour. An introductory essay, co-authored by program director Camran Mani and former head guide Cecilia Y. Zhou ’23, adds context. They discuss the history, structure, and training methods of the Ho Family Student Guide Program; they also outline the range of activities that the program has spun out from its core work of public-tour development. Foremost a collection of perspectives, this volume aims to equip readers with a richer understanding of the selected works, the interdisciplinary approach to art that grounds the Ho Family Student Guides, and the value of their campus- and community-facing work. Proceeds from the sale of this publication go to support the work of the Ho Family Student Guide Program. Camran Mani is Manager of Student Programs at the Harvard Art Museums. Cecilia Y. Zhou ’23 is an M.Phil. student in History of Art at the University of Cambridge; she served as head guide in 2020 and again in 2022–23.
